In 2005, my NHS career commenced when I qualified as an adult gynaecology nurse. I then decided to convert over into the world of midwifery a year later and qualified in 2008.
In 17 years of practicing as a midwife, I can honestly say that my desire and passion to help and support new parents has only flourished. I have previously practiced as a tongue-tie specialist midwife working in the NHS for 7 years, before considering to offer this service as I do now privately. I thoroughly enjoy this role and wanted to further develop my knowledge and skills in infant feeding which was when I decided to undertake the IBCLC course.
Having breastfed both of my daughters Willow and Oaklee, I navigated many hurdles such as thrush, tongue tie, jaundice and weight loss. We eventually turned a corner and had a wonderful breastfeeding journey, with them naturally self-weaning at 3 and 4 years of age. I understand the struggles breastfeeding mothers face from both a personal and a professional standpoint, that this is what has inspired me to do all I can to help and support new mothers.
My aim is to reach out and support parents, who feel they are not receiving the advice, support and recommendations that everyone deserves. I can empathise with you as well as share my specialist knowledge and skills in an unhurried and caring manner. I also recognise that not all baby's can be breastfed or parents opt to bottle feed, and this is okay. I will not discriminate you as ultimately 'fed is best'

My philosophy
Lactation/Bottle Feeding Consultation AND Tongue Tie Division
This includes a holistic feeding assessment, observation, advice, recommendations, division and ongoing feeding support for 1 month via phone/email.
Additional face to face follow up appointments are charged at £55/£65
If a tongue tie does not require division but a full infant feeding consultation and tongue tie assessment has been performed, the fee is reduced to £120.
I have 8 years experience practicing as a Frenulotomy Specialist Midwife in the NHS. I decided to offer a private service as I understand and appreciate the wait for an appointment may be too long to wait when parents are keen to overcome the difficulties they are experiencing feeding their baby.
I will assess your baby's tongue, mouth and palate and discuss the findings with you. I will be open and honest based on my professional judgement and experience as to whether I believe a tongue tie division would be beneficial, or whether we could implement some additional feeding support to see if this rectifies the situation.
I am a member of the ATP
I would prefer your baby to have had Vitamin K by injection or at least 1 dose of oral Vitamin K prior to having a Tongue Tie Division. However, I will perform an individual risk assessment and consider a frenulotomy if we decide it is safe to do so. Please have a read of the leaflet to make an informed choice.

90 Minutes
Whether you would like to breastfeed, combination feed, express, use donor breastmilk or formula, I can provide you with an array of invaluable evidence based information and practical skills to help you feel prepared and confident to feed your baby.
Topics will include, antenatal colostrum harvesting, how to initiate and establish breastfeeding, positioning and attachment, normal infant feeding behaviours, expressing and storing breastmilk, sterilisation and making up bottle feeds.
2 hour lactation consultation at home £125
Frenulotomy for the 2nd twin - additional £100 (alongside the £195/£245 consultation fee)
This is a consultation assessing for scar tissue following a previous frenulotomy performed by myself.
The full fee (£195/£245) will be required if I have not assessed your baby previously.
If scar tissue is causing ongoing feeding issues with restricting tongue movement, a re-division can be done at the same time.
*Please note, I will not re-divide scar tissue before 4 weeks following the original Frenulotomy, as it can take this amount of time to fully heal.
1 hour virtual consultation discussing your needs and finding solutions to help you achieve your feeding goal. Advice on how to establish breastfeeding or overcome any feeding difficulties you may be experiencing.
(There are limitations to virtual feeding support as I am unable to assess your baby’s mouth and tongue. If you are concerned that your baby may have a tongue tie, I would strongly recommend a face to face appointment)
My consultation fees include a 20mile round trip expense from GL20 8.
Any additional miles are charged at 45p/mile.
We understand life can be unpredictable.
